Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an Ayurveda retreat in India cost?
The price for an India-based Ayurvedic retreat is variable according to stay length, treatments and accommodation standard. At Mrityunjay Yogpeeth, rates are around $1200 and up for a 3-day stay (depending on room choice), and higher for longer periods or advanced treatments such as Panchakarma. Personal retreats and long-stay programs are also available at competitive rates (inclusive of full board, Ayurvedic treatments, and consultations with the doctors).
What is an Ayurvedic retreat?+
An Ayurvedic retreat is a health and well-being program following the principles of Ayurveda, done to bring your body, mind and emotions back into balance. Usually, this comes with individualised consultations and an array of Ayurvedic remedies (think Abhyanga and Panchakarma), sattvic meals, herbal upgrades for all the things you need support with at present—lifestyle routines to keep you balanced in your longevity quest, and even applied practices like breath work, rest practices, a responsive daily routine that is aligned with natural rhythms.
What is the golden principle of Ayurveda?+
The golden Ayurvedic rule: “Health is balance.” According to Ayurveda, when your body, mind and spirit are in balance with the universe, you are in good health, and it teaches that this balance can be easily maintained through natural habits. This balance is attained by the right diet, lifestyle, sensitivity to our emotions and being in tune with nature’s cycles.
How long does it take to undergo Ayurveda Panchakarma?+
A complete Panchakarma takes at least 14 to 21 days, and the longer schedule is definitely recommended for most patients. This includes pre-detoxification or Purvakarma, the main detox process (Pradhanakarma) and post-treatment recovery or Paschatkarma. Reduced lengths might be available, but fuller benefits can only be obtained with extended durations.
How long does an Ayurveda retreat last?+
The ideal length of an Ayurveda retreat is 14-28 days, providing enough time to not only observe differences in digestion, energy, stress levels and overall balance, but also allows a good period for the beneficial effects of the treatment to promote greater long-term healing.
