Yoga Alliance is a global nonprofit organisation providing worldwide standards for yoga teacher training. As a repository of the science, practice and tradition of yoga for more than a century, it is among the most respected institutions globally; one that is steeped in an authentic vision whose positive impact continues to inspire thousands inside and outside Indian borders.
International Acknowledgement and Criteria
Yoga Alliance standards for teacher training programs are well known and respected the world over. Whether you live in India, the USA or Europe, you will still become a certified yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance, which is universally known and recognised everywhere.

Yoga Teacher Registry (RYT)
Becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher
Upon successful completion of both the 200-hour and 500-hour teacher training courses with Mrityunjay Yogpeeth (registered yoga school), students are eligible to apply for RYT 200 or RYT 500 designation from Yoga Alliance.
Steps After Completing the Course
- Completed from an RYS (Registered Yoga School)-similar to Mrityunjay Yogpeeth
- Sign up on the Yoga Alliance website.
- Submit your training details.
- Get your application reviewed and approved.
- Register and deposit the fee to get your digital certificate.
Maintaining Your RYT Status
To maintain your RYT, Yoga Alliance requires that you:
- Periodic training (at least 30 hours per three-year service period)
- Experience in teaching (at least 45 hours every three years)
- Agreement and adherence to the Code of Conduct stated by the Yoga Alliance

Anatomy, Philosophy, and Ethics in Training
The training consists of the following full learning modules:
- Human anatomy and physiology
- Philosophy and the Sutras of Yoga
- Ethical guidelines for yoga teachers
- Knowledge of prana, chakras and energy bodies
Practical Teaching Experience
Every student has a chance to:
- Lead yoga sessions under supervision
- Receive feedback from senior instructors.
- Engage in peer teaching exercises.
- Participate in real-time class management.
This hands-on training allows the trainee to be ready to teach yoga after becoming certified.
Accreditation Process at Mrityunjay Yogpeeth
Enrollment & Application Steps
- Apply via their website with your education history and health information. Select your path – RYT 200 or RYT 500.
- Make a full payment and collect your welcome kit.
- Start your path to being a certified yoga instructor.
Evaluation and Certification Criteria
- Attendance (minimum 90%)
- Written and practical exams
- Teaching assessments and class demonstrations
- Direct involvement – participation in workshops and discussions
Issuance of Certification and Digital Badges
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive:
- A Yoga Alliance-recognised certificate
- A Website/Social Media Digital Badge
- Individualised advice regarding how to register with Yoga Alliance
Continuing Education (YACEP)
What is YACEP?
YACEP is an acronym of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. It is an accolade given to schools and teachers with additional modules that aid certified trainers to improve their teaching abilities and expertise.
